Marketing Automation Consultant

The role is to join a startup agency part of Dept which has been initiated to respond to the fast growth in the market for Marketing Automation. There is an ambitious growth plan for the Marketing Automation business in the UK. As you join at the early stage of development you will have the opportunity to make an impact and contribute to its success.

Our offering is to both provide consulting, implementation but also day to day campaign support. In B2C, B2B and with the focus to help companies get most out of their investment in marketing automation. We do that by helping brands to enhance their customer engagement and create more relevant and meaningful communication with their consumers. We help our clients to use marketing automation that will increase sales growth and builds strong customer relationships. Our data driven mindset puts those opportunities into practice.

In the UK team you will be working closely with the MD on the first clients projects and in that role will also be assisting with the definition of the delivery process at our end. It is a key customer facing role and you will have an impact on customer satisfaction. The UK Marketing Automation team is based in London but cooperates within Dept with the other agencies in the UK and across Europe.

A week in the life of

At the start of the week you could be joining workshops to scope the implementation of a Marketing Automation platform at a new client. You will be working with marketeers at the client side to scope a detailed solution and delivery plan. During this session you could be running through how marketing automation can benefit by integration with data sources such as CRM, e-Commerce and web traffic data.

The other part of the week you will be supporting the Managing Director to provide workshops to prospects. This to run through all benefits of Marketing Automation tailored to their business. Besides that you will be supporting the pitch teams to provide inputs to presentations and present this to prospects.

Your enthusiasm for data driven marketing helps our clients to understand how they can enhance customer engagement and deliver more meaningful conversations across all of their channels.  You will be helping our clients to configure their first personalised campaign flows.

Your responsibilities

  • Define marketing automation solutions for our clients
  • Scope, translate business requirements to solution requirements and assess and validate how this can be delivered.
  • Manage the delivery of the agreed solution in close collaboration with a setup that can be consisting of the client key contact persons, project managers and / or  technology partners. You’re also comfortable to do this yourself for smaller projects.  
  • Owner of the Marketing Automation project for our client.
  • Become the knowledge owner of the client and their requirements and process.
  • Be proactive in identifying and delivering improvements, also in flight of a project.
  • Be confident in presenting and pitching solutions to prospects.
  • Maintain a detailed and up-to-date knowledge of industry (competitors’ and clients’) activities
  • Influencing prospect decision making in a manner which educates the customer and builds up their trust in our expertise
  • Spot any business development opportunities at existing client projects
  • Share knowledge of the projects you work on with the wider Marketing Automation team.

What you will bring (Skills and/or Experience)

  • BA / BSc Honours degree
  • Up to 3 years experience with demonstrable success in customer facing roles, marketing technology consulting, project scoping in CRM and / or marketing automation.
  • Experience gained at agency, consultancy or at the client side (interfacing with agencies).
  • A passion for what marketing automation can do for clients.  You combine this passion with solid knowledge of data driven marketing, customer journeys and customer engagement.
  • Problem solving skills; able to think on your feet, challenging the norm and allowing you to give relevant and personalised solutions to customer based on your knowledge and experience when put on the spot
  • Experience in Salesforce, Marketo, Oracle, Selligent, Adobe or any other marketing automation platform.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills combined with enthusiasm for MA
  • Consultative skills, giving open answers and addressing issues head on with integrity and a focus on successful outcomes for our clients.
  • Determination, used to take ownership, good problem resolution skills.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English, additional languages a bonus
  • Bonus: experience in multiple marketing automation platforms
  • Bonus: vendor certifications in marketing automation platforms
